One week down…...

Hey Dad,
I was able to get some pesos down in the Mexico airport, and they give me a card with 100 pesos on it every four weeks to spend at the store here so that is nice also. Well it looks like my P-days are gonna be on Tuesdays for the next six weeks, just so you guys know when to look for them or expect them. This truly has been a unique experience so far. Honestly this is the hardest thing I have ever done in my whole life. I know that it will be worth it I iust need to keep strong and keep at it the best that I can. The language part is what is getting me, because literally that´s all they speak so its hard to understand everything and then for me to speak it back is a trial in itself. I know I will be blessed with the gift of tongues just got to stay persistant with it. I am glad the younger two are doing good! What you guys been up to? How is everything going back home? Here it has rained every day right at about 5:30 every night. It is has been great weather though!
The food isn´t the best I seem to never get full but that´s okay.
I have taught three lessons and they had to be in spanish and lets just say they were experiences! The very last one was really tough cause the investigator even called me out on it, and I can understand what they say just can´t speak it yet. So that really hurt and then I read in Ether chapter 12 after the lesson and that really helped me. I recommend you guys read it if you get the chance to do so. Everyone in my house is awesome ~ we get along so good! My companion has been great! He is way cool, he was just assigned distric leader which means, I have to follow him every where. So I like to look at it as his secretary because I am always keeping us on track and making sure he doesn´t get caught up in one meeting and miss the next one which helps keep me busy. Which is good because those first couple of days were seriously so rough it was hard to not just come home. It´s beginning to get easier and hearing from you guys really helps me stay out here and keep strong, Thank you so much for your support. If it is at all possible for you guys to send me some pictures down by mail that would be great to show off you guys to everyone and for myself and pictures of our fun crazy adventures i would much apppreciate it! I love and miss you guys like crazy! You guys are the best family anyone could ask for! I would love to hear from all of you, I can email so that is a postiive note! Any tell anyone that wants it they can email me as well I´d to hear from them as well! I want you to know that is the true church and I am giving up to small years in the thought of an eternity to bring families an eternity for them! I know this is what I am suppose to be doing I will try and figure out how to send pictures home, I just am not very technology smart so I apologize but I will try by best. Love you and may you always have the spirit with you to guide and help you throughout your life!
Love,
Elder Leatherow

Hey mom! It is great to hear from you guys! It doesn´t matter what people choose to do, it will be quicker to email and I can email every Tuesday which is my P-day. The Dear elder thing can take a while to recieve but its nice to have some form of hard copy to refer back to when i can´t get on the computer during the rest of the week.
As for missionary scripture I really Like D&C 84:87-88. That was one when I got down that really hit home for me and explains my purpose of my mission.
Thats cool G was able to play in his tournament! How did he do? Who did he play? What position? Well down here has been an experience, it literally has been the hardest thing i have ever done! The first couple of days were some serious tear jerkers cause it is so hard to learn the language and feel the spĂrit and be this far from you guys, I know that this is what I´m suppose to be doing though.
Have you seen or heard from Madeline? How was her trip? I hope she is doing good!
I hope everyone is doing good! I am doing way better now then I was the the first day the first week is rough but I hear it gets easier after that! So we will just have to see. I know this the true church and this is what I am suppose to be doing, and that two years may be a long time but in an eternity perspective its not and that for me sacrifing two years to give other families the opportunity to live together for an eternity like I get with you guys is such a blessing to me, and a small sacrfice in my eyes!  I love you mom and thank you so much for supporting me and loving me and raising me in this church! I hope to hear from ya soon!
Love´your son,
Elder Leatherow

How is Kaelt and Ster doing? You heard from them at all?!? Tell them they are awesome and that I would love to hear from them. To also stay out of trouble and that they are in my prayers Please also tell Madeline I said hello for me! and that she is looking quite beautiful for me!  And everyone as well! I Love you all and God bless! What is logan and Colt up to these days?!? Tell them I love them and miss them and would really enjoy to hear from them when they get the chance. Tell them to stay strong and true to what they know is right! To keep the spirit with them and that good will always pervail over evil every time! Tell the rest of the family I miss and love them and that I keep them in my prayers.

From what I hear the first emails home are hard for a momma bear to swallow.  I so bad want to get on a plane and bring my boy home and feed him.  But I too know that Weston is exactly where he is suppose to be and with all of your love, support and prayers he will return with honor in just a few short months.  The tears at the Leatherow house have started to dry up and we are all starting to find our place in the house minus one.  Crazy how fast our Father in Heaven hears and answers our prayers for peace and comfort.  Please keep Wes and all the other missionaries and their families in your prayers.  Much love,
Shar

You've got Mail

Hi Friends and Family,
Weston is excited to be serving as you all read from his first email home.  I have been told that as a missionary he will LOVE to get mail and not just the email kind but the actual letters.  I have found that if you will use DearElder.com they will print out your letter and deliver it to the cutest Leatherow in Mexico.  The site is VERY user friendly; so go ahead and give it a go.  The Mexico MTC has a pouch system so that makes it even easier and FREE.
Please know that as a missionary some weeks he will have more time than others and he may not be able to write everyone individually every week but please don't get discouraged ~ just keep sending those letters.  Include your email address and your mailing address in your letters and if he is able -  he will write back.  I will post his emails to this blog so visit often.
From the bottom of my heart thank you all for your love and support for Weston ~ we are all feeling the love.
Love,
Shar

The ride was FREAKING SWEET!

Weston arrived safe and sound in Mexico today, July 23rd.  Enjoy his first email home:

We are able to take a quick second and email you guys. I want you guys to know that I made to Mexico City just fine! Flying was freaking sweet! It has been pretty good so far. My first companion is Elder Caldwell from mountain green area, which is really cool so we have a lot in common and know where both of are from. We just had our first dinner..and well it was an experience and it wasn´t to bad but I am still starving. I will survive though. I hope you guys are doing well back in the States. I love you all so much, and thank you for supporting me and helping being able to serve. It has just started to rain here, which is nice so its cooled down a ton! I want you to know that this church is true and you need not worry too much you guys have been great parents and taught me so much and I am in the Lords hands now and I know I am safe if I just obey the rules and commandments. I will hopefully get to hear from you guys soon. Tell everyone that I love them and am doing good and arrived safe. Colt and G try and not fight too much and watch out for each other. Help mom and dad with anything they may need, and do it on the first time of them asking not the third or fourth time please, I love you both so much and miss you guys already! Tell Kaelt and Ster to keep their eye on the true prize and get out as soon as they can, they will love it, I have been here just today and I know this is what I am suppose to be doing and where I am suppose to be. I ran into Elder Taylor and he is doing good! Tell the whole fam that I love them and I send my best wishes to them. I know if you guys are ever in need or feel lonely or need comfort that you can always turn to our Heavenly Father and he will be there for you and He will be there to comfort you. You guys are the best family anyone could ever ask for! I will try and write soon and I hope to hear from you guys!

Just like Weston ~ he is bossing his brothers even from another country.  There were so many other young missionaries and their families at the airport it was simply overwhelming to see the Lord's work moving to reach all that are seeking the truth.  ….of couse we all know Weston was by far the MOST handsome one there.  Loving you to the moon and back, Wesman, you are my shining star.
